1. Our Return Promise
At Safe Outside, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you're not happy with your order, we offer a straightforward returns process in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
2. Change of Mind Returns
We accept change of mind returns within 30 days of delivery, provided:
- The product is unused and in its original condition
- The NFC tag has not been registered or activated
- All original packaging and tags are intact
- You have proof of purchase (order confirmation email)
Note: Once an NFC tag has been registered to a child, it cannot be returned for change of mind as it has been personalised.
3. Faulty or Defective Products
If your product is faulty, defective, or not as described, you are entitled to a remedy under Australian Consumer Law. This includes:
- Major Fault: Full refund or replacement at your choice
- Minor Fault: Free repair within a reasonable time, or refund/replacement if repair is not possible
Faults covered include:
- NFC chip not functioning correctly
- Manufacturing defects in the accessory
- Product significantly different from description
- Product not fit for its intended purpose
4. How to Return
To initiate a return:
- Email us at returns@safeoutside.com.au with your order number and reason for return
- We will provide you with a return authorisation and shipping instructions
- Pack the item securely in its original packaging
- Ship the item to the address provided
- Once received and inspected, we will process your refund or exchange
5. Return Shipping
- Faulty Products: We will cover return shipping costs
- Change of Mind: Customer is responsible for return shipping costs
We recommend using a tracked shipping service for all returns.
6. Refund Processing
Refunds will be processed within 5-10 business days of receiving your return. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase.
- Credit/Debit Card: 3-5 business days to appear on your statement
- PayPal: 1-2 business days
7. Exchanges
Want a different size or colour? We're happy to exchange your item. Simply follow the return process and indicate that you would like an exchange. If there is a price difference, we will contact you to arrange payment or refund of the difference.
8. Non-Returnable Items
The following items cannot be returned for change of mind:
- NFC products that have been registered or activated
- Products that have been used, worn, or damaged by the customer
- Products without original packaging
This does not affect your rights under Australian Consumer Law for faulty products.
9. Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
